Hi there! We are Sharon and Roopa, sisters-in-law through marriage of Roopa's brother, best friends, and the creative forces behind Thread & Metal Designs. We always knew we wanted to channel our shared love for design into a business, blending our unique talents to create something special.

Today, we run a lean, family-owned wholesale operation that bridges two incredible cities: San Francisco and Hyderabad. By skipping the traditional brick-and-mortar storefront and working directly with master creators, we bring authentic, breathtaking hand-embroidered zardozi work straight to your shelves — completely middleman-free.

We launched Thread & Metal Designs in 2026 after years of swooning over zardozi pieces during family trips. Watching this majestic, historic art form slowly vanish from mainstream retail broke our hearts, so we decided to do something about it.

Our mission is simple: make it entirely effortless for independent boutiques, museum shops, luxury hotels, and curated souvenir houses to carry authentic, hand-embroidered art. We offer honest wholesale pricing and sensible minimums because we believe gorgeous heritage craft should be accessible.
