Territorial Exclusivity Policy

Thread & Metal Designs is proud to partner with independent boutiques who want to offer our handcrafted zardozi ornaments as a distinctive, curated part of their store. We understand that exclusivity can matter to our retail partners, and we offer a limited, structured exclusivity program to qualifying wholesale accounts.

How It Works

SKU-Level, Not Collection-Wide

Exclusivity applies to specific SKUs or a themed capsule collection — never to our full catalog. This allows us to keep the majority of our collection available to all wholesale partners while still offering meaningful protection on select designs.

Each Colorway Is Its Own SKU

Some designs, including our San Francisco collection, are offered in multiple colorways. Each colorway is treated as an individual SKU for exclusivity purposes. Exclusivity on one colorway does not extend to other colorways of the same design — for example, exclusivity on a single San Francisco design color does not grant exclusivity across the full San Francisco line. Retailers interested in exclusivity on multiple colorways of a design must qualify separately for each SKU.

Defined Radius

Exclusivity is granted within a defined geographic radius measured from your storefront address, scaled to local retail density:
  • · Dense urban areas: 2–4 blocks (approx. 0.25 mile)
  • · Suburban areas: 1–3 miles
  • · Rural areas: 5–10 miles

The applicable radius is confirmed at the time exclusivity is granted, based on your location. This tight urban radius is intentional — it allows multiple boutiques in the same neighborhood or shopping district to each carry Thread & Metal Designs pieces without one store's exclusivity blocking nearby stores.

Seasonal Term

Exclusivity runs for one seasonal cycle (approximately 3–4 months), aligned with our seasonal drop calendar. It does not carry forward automatically beyond that period unless renewed (see below).

Qualifying Order Minimum

To be granted exclusivity on a SKU, a retailer must commit to a minimum order of 100 units of that SKU for the exclusivity period, with deposit paid at time of order confirmation.

Renewal

Exclusivity renews for the following seasonal cycle only with a new qualifying order (100+ units of the same SKU) placed before the current period ends. If no qualifying reorder is placed, the SKU returns to general wholesale availability at the end of the term.

Per-Retailer Limits

To keep our program sustainable as we grow, each retailer may hold exclusivity on up to 2–3 SKUs at any given time.

A Note on Discretion

Thread & Metal Designs reserves the right to approve, limit, or decline exclusivity requests at our discretion, including in cases where a requested SKU or region overlaps with existing commitments, business needs, or production capacity. Exclusivity is offered as a partnership benefit and is not a guaranteed or contractual right of any wholesale account absent written confirmation from Thread & Metal Designs.

If you're interested in exclusivity for your store, reach out to your Thread & Metal Designs contact with your desired SKU(s) and store location. We'll confirm eligibility, radius, and terms in writing before your order is finalized.

Business buyers need an access code and see wholesale pricing, with per-piece MOQs and a 50-unit cart minimum. New Customer orders are placed without pricing, in 6-piece increments per design and color. Dreaming of a custom bespoke design?
